The organization’s main business is retail trade in building materials, hardware and decorative products for contractors as well as consumers. Kooyman also delivers special orders to the professional market.

For the Supply Chain department located at the company’s headquarters in Curaçao, Objeqtive Recruitment is looking for a progressive:

Supply Chain Director

As Supply Chain Director you are member of the Corporate Management Team and in that capacity, you co-determine the strategic direction of the organization. You are specifically responsible for the processes of the entire supply chain management within Kooyman and translate strategy into policy for the supply chain department. You maintain good contacts with the strategic vendors, suppliers and service providers. The SC Director is responsible for the realization of the department budget. In collaboration with the Senior Manager Commerce and the Senior Manager Operations ultimately responsible for the successful implementation of the entire Kooyman store formula.

You will manage a team consisting of professionals (approx. 35 FTE indirectly) in charge of managing the inventory and supply chain of the entire organization from the generation of purchase orders to distribution to the stores in Aruba, Barbados, Bonaire, Curaçao and St. Maarten. This includes demand planning, operational buying, import, warehousing, stock control and transportation. You will monitor and improve the progress of results by means of Key Performance Indicators.

The strategic direction of Kooyman drives multiple complex future challenges within the Supply Chain department. These challenges will enable Kooyman in the further growth of the company and requires an inspiring, innovative and solid people manager. You're an enabler and stimulator for your team, colleagues and business partners.

You are also in the possession of:

• Academic / Bachelor degree in Business Administration/ Economics, preferably in Supply Chain Management;
• Minimum of 5 years related work experience in a leading supply chain position in the retail industry;
• Technical knowledge of supply chain processes/ concepts in general;
• Demonstrable leadership skills, strong team orientation and proven ability to communicate effectively in a multicultural environment;
• Highly developed analytical skills;
• Affinity with the analysis and processing of (large) automated data files;
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English and Dutch.
