Continuous Improvement Lead

AFPRO's products are being produced in the company owned production sites in China and Poland. From these locations the products (and other traded goods) are being distributed to AFPRO's warehouses in Finland, Poland and Alkmaar. From here the AFPRO products find their way to customers (B2B) globally. The Operations department consists of Manufacturing (Poland and China), Supply Chain (warehousing, transportation and planning) and Procurement. Operational Excellence within these departments is key to the success AFPRO aspires to achieve.

The Continuous Improvement Lead (CIL) reports to the Director Operations (Simon Schipper) and works closely with all functions in Operations and all other stakeholders to achieve the right service at the right costs to serve. For today's customers and to facilitate the projected business growth founded. The scope ranges from training the organization how to apply business analytics, implement the lean principles, to business analytics, to gate keeper of continuous imrpvoement in OPS, to leading cross departmental projects. The CIL is responsible for developing, maintaining and being the gate keeper for data integrity in relation to KPIs, costs dashboards and business analysis.

As CIL you will initiate, lead and support projects which are focused on cost and/or service improvements. These projects could be internal focused based Kaizen or continuous improvement concepts, or larger scale projects with other locations or external contractors. An important responsibility is to lead and support the organization in understanding and acquiring the optimal balance between costs and services founded in the 80/20 concept. KPI’s, trends and opportunities are shared with the operational leadership team, including advise on quad analyses, systems, structures, staff, ways of working (methods). This includes on-site training and to develop operational effectiveness.

Your key tasks will be:

  • Lead projects to improve costs and service position
  • Act as enabler within OPS project management and innovation;
  • Develop and maintain rock solid dashboards and KPIs, including benchmarks against industry standards or best practices.
  • Develop, implement, continuous improvement framework;
  • Identify operational trends, shortfalls for opportunities and act on this;
  • Training, mentoring, and guiding team members in project management skills based on continuous improvement and 80/20 philosophy.

You show strong self-initiatieve and persistance and are able to inspire and convince your collegues with sharp analysis and presentations. Next to this you are aiming to work for a company which can provide you with a lot of space for initiative and a diverse and dynamic international playground.

Next to the above, we are looking for a professional who brings:

  • Master or bachelor degree in Economics, Operations, Supply Chain
  • Excellent English language skills, Dutch is a pre
  • Excellent skills in Power BI
  • Ability to travel
